Dow AgroSciences is seeking to find a Supply Chain Improvement Specialist position available in their global headquarters located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a great second or third job for individuals who have proven to have an interest in Supply Chain Management.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business (Finance, Operations Management) Engineering, or other Sciences is required.
APICS Certification or completion of at least 3 of the APICS CPIM modules preferred.
Participation in one or more Six Sigma projects or Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification preferred.
Experience in Lean concepts in either Manufacturing or Supply Chain Operations is preferred.
Duties: The purpose of this job is to identify and implement supply chain improvements for a business. Project activities will focus on supply chain design for new products and re-design/optimization of existing supply chains. The overall objective is to maximize business value growth, economic profit, cash flow and customer service through improvements in supply chain costs, inventory, asset utilization and productivity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify, assess, and optimize the material flow and risk trade-offs across the supply chain at a tactical or strategic level (inventory, purchasing costs, production costs, logistics costs, product quality, asset utilization, productivity and customer service).
Optimize or design supply chain infrastructures (distribution networks, plant locations, outsourcing).
Identify and assist in the implementation of optimum inventory levels that balance costs with business strategic initiatives.
Participate on supply chain strategy development, including customer/product mix analysis, customer/product segmentation, channels-to-market, capital investment, and sourcing decisions.
Optimize or lead the development of supply chain work processes, business rules, and establish metrics in the areas of forecasting/demand planning, production planning, inventory management, order fulfillment and the S&OP process.
Apply supply chain Most Effective Technology (MET) and best practices during business projects.
Support the design and optimization of supply chains through the use of optimization tools (modeling, spreadsheet analysis) or implementationof Lean Supply Chain concepts.
Manage cross-functional projects and relationships.
Provide support and expertise in supply chain operations technology (ERP Systems/SAP.)
